The print shows the permutation of the numbers 12345678, which creates 40320 possibilities. Torches have to be lighted/switched on individually and thus there are these many possibilities to do so. It refers somehow to the concept of Sol LeWitt’s serial projects and Boetti’s systematic grids and formula’s such as Victoria Boogie Woogie.
