Dvir is happy to share the first solo show in Germany of Marianne Berenhaut 
Marianne Berenhaut, born in Brussels in 1934, is a great (re)discovery. The soon to be 90-year-old artist looks back on a long career, but has only gained recognition for her work in recent years. As a Jewish child she survived the Second World War, studied later at the Royal Academy of Arts in Brussels, and since the late 1960s has been creating sculptural installations whose historical weight and playful lightness are unseen in this combination. For Marianne Berenhaut's first solo exhibition in Germany the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen couldn't be more fitting as the architectural setting. Housed in a former bunker from WWII, the building itself points to some specifics of Berenhaut's objects: transformed containers of histories of pain as a possibility for new beginnings.
