Two of the Dvir Gallery's artists, Leora Laor and Pavel Wolberg, are among
the three laureates of the Leon Constantiner Photography Prize for a Young
Israeli Artist, awarded by the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The award was first
established in 1999, at Leon Constantiner's initiative. The comittee
includes Leon Constantiner himself, Mordechai Omer, director of the Tel Aviv
Museum of Art, and Nili Goren, curator of the Photography department.
The group show of the
three winners will open on December 1st, 2005, on the occasion of the Board
of Governors of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.

In 2005, Miri Segal was awarded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and the Ville de Paris the prestigious scholarship, and will be in residency
at the Couvent des Recollets, Paris, from July to December 2005.

On April 29, 2005, the group show “Dreaming Art, Dreaming Reality” will open at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, celebrating the first decade to the Nathan Gottesdiener Prize for Israeli Art. Three artists of the Dvir Gallery are among the ten participants. Nelly Agassi shows a new work called “Bed Room”. Yossi Breger presents his show “20 Shekels Cup of Coffee”. Miri Segal shows a selection of video installations and photographs. The show will be open until July 31.

For its fourth edition, the Rome International Festival of Photography enclosed a group show of Israeli contemporary photography. Four artists of the gallery are among the participants: Yossi Breger, Michal Chelbin, Leora Laor and Ohad Matalon.
The show, to be held at the Museo Andersen in Rome, opens on May 5 and will be on until June 19.

The Israel Museum, Jerusalem and the Berliner Festspiele in the Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, are staging an exhibition entitled “The New Hebrews - A Century of Art in Israel”. It tells the story of modern Israeli culture from its emergence around a century ago up to the present day. Among the participants are Yitzhak Golombek, Yigal Nizri, Eli Petel and Pavel Wolberg.

Adi Nes sold for USD 102,000 in Sotheby's [March 15, 2005]
Rising up high above the original estimation of USD 40,000-60,000, Adi Nes's
Untitled [1999], also known as The Last Supper, was sold last month in
Sotheby's NYC for USD 102,000 [!]. Another work by Nes, Untitled [1999],
depicting a group of soldiers in the water, initially estimated for USD
6,000-8,000, was sold for USD 14,400. For more details, please check:

February 2005 - Last night at the 77th Annual Academy Awards the London-based
French artist Pierre Bismuth was presented with the most desirable sculptural object
in the world of cinematography: a small golden statue. Bismuth,
co-writer of the film ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, won
an Oscar for best screenplay, together with Charlie Kaufman &
Michel Gondry. In 2001 Bismuth exhibited a solo show at the Dvir

Tali Amitai-Tabib in Minard Theatre in Ghent
March 2005 - The Minard Theatre in Ghent, Belgium is about to open a solo show of Tali Amitai Tabib’s recent LOMO photographs: the artist’s fascinating perspective on the everyday life in Israel. The show closes in April 14, 2005.
