ELI PETEL AT THE CENTRE POMPIDOU, PARIS

Eli Petel will participate in the exhibition Traces du Sacré at the Centre Pompidou, exhibiting the work Could it be (2008, mixed technique) in a version created especially for the Pompidou's space.

  With Traces du Sacré the Centre Pompidou returns to the tradition of major multidisciplinary exhibitions that made its reputation, offering a visual exploration of one of the most pressing issues of our time. The exhibition brings together some 350 major works by almost 200 artists of international renown, from Caspar David Friedrich to Kandinsky; Malevich to Picasso, Barnett Newman to Bill Viola.

The exhibition, curated by Jean de Loisy, one of the most important curators of our time, opens Monday, May 5th, 2008 (open through 11/08/08)

"DATELINE ISRAEL" FEATURING PAVEL WOLBERG AND LEORA LAOR TO OPEN IN BERLIN

After a successful showing in New York, "Dateline Israel" is scheduled to open at the Jewish Museum in Berlin on December 14th.

"Over the years since the founding of the state of Israel, people outside the country perceive it primarily as a place of conflict. What does this mean for art about Israel? Dateline Israel focuses on photography and video art made after the year 2000. The works of art in this exhibition reveal the tangled, elusive reality of an ever evolving-land."

KAREN RUSSO IN THE PARIS METRO SYSTEM

During the next three months, Russo's video Economy of Excess will be screened at the Madeleine station (platform line 14).
Videospread distributes a collection of artist films and videos destined to be screened and/or broadcasted in public and semi-public places. This program questions the capacity of Art having a direct impact on the perception and appropriation of an artistic content on the general public - considering the areas of broadcast.
